Nu är dags för Julklappsbyte hos En bok om dagen och det är då förstås pocketböcker som skall skickas i gröna påsar kors och tvärs över landet. Ett och annat ätbart brukar också slinka med och i juletid så blir det förstås också något julaktigt. Bytena brukar vara så trevliga att jag inte kan motstå. Vilken är din absoluta favoritbok av de som du har läst på ett annat språk än svenska?
Så frågar Annika i veckans bokbloggsjerka och jag får fundera flera dagar faktiskt. Ibland är det så svårt att välja absoluta saker, livet är liksom mer relativt… Det främmande språk som jag läser obehindrat på är engelska och jag har läst på engelska sedan jag gick i åttan och fick en Agatha Christiebok i present av min engelsklärare, som jag f ö har glömt namnet på, och titeln på boken också för den delen. Idag skickar jag ett stort grattis till alla kända och okända som har namnsdag. Min farmor, min mamma, min dotter, min systerdotter och jag själv är några som heter just så. Elisabet är ett namn med hebreiskt ursprung (Elisheba) som betyder ”Gud är fullkomlighet” även ”Gud är min ed”. Debatten om skolan går hög just nu. Var och varannan dag kan vi höra i Sveriges Radios satsning Den orättvisa skolan hur samhället sviker de svagaste genom en otillräckerlig skolpolitik. Som del av satsningen sänds också radioföljetongen De kanske lämpade av Peter Höeg. Det är en drabbande roman som jag läste under tiden som jag utbildade mig till lärare och jag vet att den finns med som kurslitteratur ännu på vissa specialpedagogikkurser. Ja, det var ett av samtalen från mitt besök i Tanzania som jag inte glömmer i första laget. I Alain Mabanckous nya roman Black Bazar känns mentaliteten igen.
Huvudpersonen, även kallad rumpologen tack vare hans expertis på den kvinnliga bakdelen, är från Kongo och som kongoles i Paris åtnjuter han en viss respekt, åtminstone från andra afrikaner. Han lever som en äkta sapeur, med extravagant färgsprakande klädsel och en del av romanen utspelar sig på stamstället… Läs mer
åtminstone på Tjolöholms slott! Julmarknaden startar idag och varar fram till söndag. Det brukar vara riktigt mysigt att vandra runt i det pyntade slottet, köpa delikatesser och titta på genuint konsthantverk. En tur till Halland i helgen kanske?… Läs mer
